Unlocking Your Potential via Personality Tests & Beyond | Ep. 40 | The Prolific Hub Podcast

A young woman sits at a desk biting her pencil while she looks anxiously at her laptop

In this episode of The Prolific Hub Podcast, I delve into the fascinating world of personality tests like Myers Briggs' 16 Personalities and Enneagram, and other tools like Human Design, astrology and astrocartography to unlock your potential for personal and professional growth. This episode is packed with discussions and practical tools that can help you to navigate life's choices with a spiritual framework, empowering your journey with personalized strategies.

The episode kicks off by exploring the value and relevance of personality tests beyond personal life, particularly emphasizing their benefits in professional settings. We dive deep into popular tools like the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Enneagram. For those who might be unfamiliar, MBTI categorizes individuals based on four dichotomies—introversion or extroversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, and judging or perceiving—resulting in 16 unique personality types. I share my personal experiences with consistent INTJ results, illustrating how these insights can foster self-awareness, improve team dynamics, and enhance communication. Whether you rely on intuition or seek tools for self-discovery, these tests offer something valuable for everyone. The episode continues with a deeper exploration of the Enneagram, another popular personality assessment tool. I recount my own shift from identifying as a Type Seven to discovering a new alignment with Type Four, highlighting how these insights can be both fascinating and valuable for personal and professional development.

Curious about how spiritual frameworks can guide your life choices? This episode discusses the complex yet fascinating world of Human Design. Human Design integrates elements of astrology, kabbalah, I Ching, Chakras, and other spiritual systems to help individuals understand their unique energetic blueprint and decision-making processes. Developed by Alan (Robert) Krakower, also known as Ra Uru Hu, Human Design categorizes individuals into types such as Manifesting Generator, Generator, Projector, Reflector, and Manifester. I share my personal experiences as a 2-4 profile, explaining how this profile reveals tensions and strengths, particularly the balance between solitude and community.

In addition to exploring the main types and profiles, the episode also delves into the concept of inner authority in Human Design. Inner authority dictates how individuals process information and make decisions. Various types of authorities, such as splenic, emotional, sacral, and ego, are discussed in detail. I share personal experiences as someone with a splenic authority, emphasizing the importance of intuition and being present in the moment. These insights are not just mystical musings; they offer practical tools for navigating both personal and professional challenges.

In this episode, we also explore the world of astrocartography and astrology. Astrocartography maps astrological lines across the globe to suggest optimal locations for career success, love, and health based on celestial positions at the time of birth. I recount my mixed experiences with location recommendations, such as conflicting advice about New York and LA versus a personal preference for more rural settings. Despite the mixed recommendations, the insights gained from astrocartography are invaluable. The broader applications of astrology in understanding ourselves and others are also discussed, emphasizing that while astrology can be a powerful tool for self-awareness, it should not be used as an excuse for bad behavior.

One of the most empowering segments of this episode is the discussion on cycle syncing for women, femmes, and menstruating individuals, including non-binary and trans people who experience menstruation. I explore how understanding and aligning with one's menstrual cycle can enhance personal and professional well-being. Topics include recognizing different phases of the cycle to optimize rest, energy, and productivity, and the impact of societal structures that fail to accommodate the unique needs of those who menstruate. The episode also touches on reproductive health issues like PCOS and the challenges faced by new mothers in professional environments. Emphasizing the need for more supportive and flexible spaces, the I advocate for environments that support the unique needs of women and those who experience menstruation.
