About
Aliya Cheyanne
Aliya Cheyenne is a strategic visionary and creative consultant with over 12 years of professional experience in nonprofit communications & policy, and community building. Drawing from her background in sociology and expertise in communications, project management, and narrative strategy, she empowers organizations and individuals to bring their visions to life with purpose and clarity.
Aliya’s professional journey spans critical social impact sectors, including affordable housing, food equity, and criminal justice reform. At Teens for Food Justice, she spearheaded a comprehensive communications strategy to amplify the organization’s mission for food security. As Senior Project Manager & Policy Associate at Common Justice, she transformed national conversations on violence through grassroots engagement, thought leadership, and digital storytelling. At Enterprise Community Partners, Aliya co-led statewide campaigns, including the launch of a Justice-Involved Housing Initiative and coalitions advancing fair housing policy.
Her earlier work at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office focused on supporting alternatives to incarceration and reentry programs for justice-impacted youth and adults. In addition to her policy and organizational expertise, Aliya is deeply committed to supporting creatives and changemakers. Her consulting work bridges strategy with creativity, helping individuals and teams find clarity, structure, and inspiration to realize their potential. With an intuitive understanding of storytelling and innovation, she offers guidance tailored to nonprofits, startups, and creatives alike—empowering them to balance vision with sustainable action.
Rooted in her love for storytelling, Aliya has authored several personal development and creativity-focused works, including Surviving Singleness: The Gift Society Will Make You Believe Is a Curse; Guided Journal: Writing Prompts for Growth and Emotional Wellness; and she is the host & producer of The Prolific Hub Podcast, a digital archive of all things life, creativity, spirituality and personal growth. Whether she’s crafting communications strategies, mentoring creatives, or helping organizations expand their impact, Aliya’s work reflects her dedication to fostering empowerment, purpose, and community.
When she’s not collaborating on transformative projects, Aliya enjoys exploring books, films, and ideas, spending time with loved ones (including her dog, Storm), and envisioning a more inclusive, inspired world.
